About Us
Summary:
Founded
in 1995, the company initially was involved in providing modern energy
services to off-grid communities in developing countries. The
founders of CPC, Art Lilley and Robb Walt, leveraged their expertise
in AC hybrid systems for community electrification into the development
of the leading company in modular bioenergy. The company’s technical
staff includes some of the most capable and experienced engineers
and scientists in the field of small modular biopower.
History:
In 1998 the company was awarded a contract to perform a marketing
study for the US Department of Energy related to a new generation
of small modular biopower systems. CPC performed studies of the off-grid
markets in Indonesia, Brazil and the Philippines.
In 1999 CPC was selected by DOE as part of a Phase I project to develop
a 12.5 kWe prototype system called the BioMax to power a remote community
in the Philippines using coconut shells as the feedstock.
CPC
was then provided a Phase II contract in 2000 to incorporate numerous
technological advances, increase the capacity to 15 kWe, and deploy
several systems as part of a Product Validation program.
The company has since expanded its product lineup to include 25,
50 and 75 kWe systems; combined heat and power systems; thermal systems;
containerized systems; mobile systems; and systems that can make synthetic
diesel fuel.
We have also expanded our market focus to include grid-connected
applications in developed countries. To date our systems have been
deployed for users such as Universities, Research Institutions, Utilities,
Military, Agricultural Processors, Schools, Rural Communities and
Energy Service companies.
